Saathwika Suraram is an undergraduate student at Indiana University Bloomington with research interests in maternal and child health, nutrition, and public health. Her research focuses on breastfeeding practices, maternal health behaviors, and the social and structural factors that influence health outcomes. She is the co-first author of a study examining breastfeeding attitudes, knowledge of the updated American Academy of Pediatrics breastfeeding recommendations, and barriers to extended breastfeeding among U.S. mothers, which she will present at the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) conference. Through her research, she aims to contribute to evidence-based strategies that improve maternal and child health and reduce barriers to optimal nutrition and healthcare.
