I have over 16 years of research experience in nutrition, immunology, and environmental health, focusing on the health effects of nutritional deficiencies and environmental exposures, including toxic metals and household air pollution, among women and children. My work involves designing and implementing epidemiological studies and clinical trials to evaluate food- and micronutrient-based interventions aimed at improving nutritional status, enhancing immune responses, and mitigating the adverse effects of environmental pollutants.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I contributed to two population-based serosurveillance studies investigating SARS-CoV-2 infection and immune responses in Bangladesh. My current research also explores the influence of environmental and climatic factors on climate-sensitive infectious diseases, particularly dengue and chikungunya, including their epidemiology, clinical manifestations, and disease severity.
I have extensive experience in study coordination, field and laboratory research, data analysis, scientific writing, and collaborating with multidisciplinary national and international research teams.
