Her research topics are focused on the role of nutrition and food security in the prevention and management of cardiometabolic diseases across life stages, including dietary intake, environmental, lifestyle and obesity, with the objective of providing evidence-based recommendations.
She has led the nutritional component of various epidemiological studies and contributed to global studies about the dietary patterns associated with NCDs. She has also served as a consultant to the UN World Food Programme during the COVID-19 emergency in Peru, on promoting healthier lifestyle habits with a multi-level intervention in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization. She has been awarded as one of the Latin American leaders in Nutrition by the Latin American Society of Nutrition in 2023.
