Samuel Selorm Attu is a Ph.D. student in Human Nutrition at the University of Arkansas, studying higher-protein dietary patterns, leucine and glucose metabolism, resting energy expenditure, and cardiometabolic health in aging, with a focus on postmenopausal women. He holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and an M.Phil. in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from KNUST, Ghana. His research combines clinical trial methods with community-based approaches, drawing on expertise in ELISA, phlebotomy, and dietary assessment. Selorm has co-authored peer-reviewed publications on hydration, dietary diversity, and nutrition-related health outcomes, and delivered an oral presentation at NUTRITION 2025 on protein and omega-3 supplementation in postmenopausal women, where he was named a finalist in ASN's Diversity in Nutrition Oral Competition. He previously presented at ObesityWeek 2024, earning a Doctoral Student Presentation Travel Grant.
He has served as a field supervisor for community nutrition and livelihood projects and supported national dietary guideline initiatives in Ghana. As a Senior Graduate Assistant, he mentors undergraduate researchers while advancing work on chronic disease prevention. Outside academia, Selorm enjoys reimagining traditional Ghanaian meals with a healthier twist and is committed to advancing public health through evidence-based nutrition.
