Mia Blakstad, PhD, Social Protection Specialist in the Social Policy practice of the World Bank
Dr. Blakstad leads the integration of nutrition across the World Bank’s US$ 30 billion social protection portfolio. She has taken this work from theory to a 27 million dollar initiative, covering 47 pilots in 42 countries and US$ 9 billion in linked World Bank financing. Mia previously led global health and nutrition investments at the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation and the Rockefeller Foundation. She holds a BSc in nutritional sciences from Cornell University and MSc and PhD in global health from Harvard University.
