Rami S. Najjar, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine. His research examines how plant-based diets and dietary bioactive compounds influence cardiovascular health, with a particular focus on coronary microvascular dysfunction, heart failure, inflammation, oxidative stress, and vascular signaling. Dr. Najjar earned his PhD in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutritional Sciences from Georgia State University and completed USDA-NIFA–funded predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships investigating the cardiovascular effects of berry polyphenols and plant-based diets. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and serves as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and an Early Career Delegate for the American Society for Nutrition’s Dietary Bioactive Components Research Interest Group. His honors include the 2026 Mary Swartz Rose Early Career Investigator Award and recognition took 2nd place in the Mass General Brigham Inova Young Investigator Award in Women’s Cardiovascular Health.
