Dr. Debritu Nane is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at William & Mary’s Global Research Institute, a former Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Davis, and an Assistant Professor of Public Health Nutrition at Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia. She earned her PhD in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Bergen, Norway. Her research bridges nutritional epidemiology, randomized controlled trials, dietary biomarkers, and sustainable diets to advance human and planetary health. She has led community-based nutrition intervention trials in Ethiopia and uses large-scale dietary data (NHANES) and food systems datasets to evaluate the nutritional quality, sustainability, and affordability of dietary patterns. Her work informs evidence-based nutrition policy and the development of healthier, more sustainable diets.
