Michelle is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a focus on pediatric nutrition at the University of Colorado, funded by the Institutional T32 Training Program in Nutrition. Her ongoing research projects explore the links between dietary composition, gut microbiome structure and function, sleep, growth outcomes, and neurodevelopment in the context of the infant complementary feeding period. She earned her Ph.D. in Health and Kinesiology from the University of Utah, specializing in human sleep physiology with a focus on the relationships between sleep duration, circadian misalignment, and glucose metabolism. Her work also utilized plasma metabolomics to identify biomarkers of circadian misalignment. Her doctoral training was supported by an NIH NRSA Diversity Supplement and the University of Utah Interdisciplinary T32 Program in Computational Approaches to Diabetes and Metabolism Research.
