Tigist M. Cherkos is a public health and nutrition specialist with over 20 years of experience leading large‑scale health and nutrition programs across Ethiopia. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and Implementation Science. She also has extensive field leadership in maternal and child nutrition, emergency nutrition response, implementation studies, and health systems strengthening.
She has provided strategic technical leadership for large‑scale, multiyear U.S. government–funded programs and impact studies, generating evidence that has informed multisectoral program design. Her work has contributed to nutrition‑sensitive graduation models and advanced community‑based nutrition innovations and local solutions.
Tigist has contributed to multiple peer‑reviewed publications, including studies on barriers to complementary, scalable nutrition interventions, maternal and child nutrition outcomes, and micronutrient deficiencies. She joins the Nutrition 2026 Conference to share research that examines how varying levels of caregiver training and supervision influence caregiver willingness, early detection, and measurement accuracy outcomes.
