Dr. Seifu Hagos Gebreyesus holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the School of Public Health, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. His academic background includes a PhD in Public Health and Nutrition from Bergen University, Norway, an MSC in Human Nutrition from Ghent University, Belgium, and an MPH from Addis Ababa University.

With a strong skill set and expertise, Dr. Seifu excels in designing, implementing, and evaluating research and evaluation projects. He has played pivotal roles in numerous international and national research endeavors focused on public health and nutrition. His involvement in various projects underscores his proficiency in these fields. Serving as a principal investigator and co-investigator, he has actively contributed to projects addressing diverse areas such as Management of acute malnutrition, healthy food systems, urban agriculture, smallholder poultry production, climate change, maternal and child health and nutrition, and community-based health programs in Ethiopia.

Dr. Seifu’s contributions to the academic literature are extensive, with published research articles, book chapters, teaching materials, and manuals reflecting his depth of knowledge and experience. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed articles in reputable international journals, primarily focusing on the development and evaluation of public health and nutrition interventions targeting women, adolescents, and children. His research spans a broad spectrum of disciplines within public health and nutrition, demonstrating his dedication to advancing knowledge and improving health outcomes, both within Ethiopia and on a global scale.
