Alireza Majidi is a master’s student and research assistant at the school of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Idaho. His master’s research focuses on the impact of food insecurity on academic performance and mental health of undergraduate students at the University of Idaho. Additionally, he investigates the availability of government assistance programs and on-campus support services for students experiencing food insecurity, as well as their utilization rates, effectiveness, and the barriers that limit access to and use of these resources. Alireza has recently contributed to a global scoping review paper on the impact of food insecurity on academic performance of postsecondary students. He has also contributed to a research project on the sex-specific association between food insecurity and suicide ideation among Canadian adults.
