I am a PhD candidate in Community Nutrition at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I also serve as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. My dissertation focuses on developing and evaluating a web-based, gamified lactation application that provides engaging, evidence-based breastfeeding education for prenatal mothers. My research aims to leverage digital health technologies to improve breastfeeding self-efficacy, combat misinformation, and reduce disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.
With over 25 years of experience as a Consulting Nutritionist, I have worked across hospitals, diagnostic centers, gyms, and corporate health programs. I have also taught undergraduate and graduate Nutrition Science courses and am a Certified Diabetes Educator with expertise in nutrition counseling and chronic disease prevention.
My long-term goal is to translate research into scalable, evidence-based digital interventions that improve maternal and child health and advance equitable breastfeeding support through public health practice, policy, and implementation science.
