Dr. Joshua Miller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University at Buffalo and a member of the Center for Climate Change and Health Equity. His research examines how environmental stressors and resource insecurities shape health behaviors and outcomes across the life course. He is particularly interested in how food and water insecurity influence diet and, in turn, contribute to chronic disease risk, poor mental health, and related outcomes. He leads the School and Healthcare Facility WASH Insecurity Experiences Project, a multi-country initiative to develop tools that assess the availability and sufficiency of institutional water, sanitation, and hygiene services for students, patients, and staff. He is also the incoming Secretary of the Global Nutrition Council of the American Society for Nutrition.
