I have a PhD in Dietetics, Nutrition and Biological Sciences from the Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. I am an Associate Academic Research Scientist in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, & Lipids at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA.
My primary research interests focus on the role of diet and nutrition in shaping body composition, metabolic health, and disease risk across diverse populations, including individuals with cystic fibrosis, diabetes, obesity, and healthy cohorts. I lead controlled feeding trials and clinical studies examining body fat distribution, glucose metabolism, lung function, muscle strength, bone health, and the identification of nutritional and metabolic biomarkers associated with diabetes and related comorbidities.
My work has a strong translational emphasis, aimed at developing evidence-based dietary interventions to improve metabolic health and reduce disease risk. Another key area of my research interest is to investigate the role of eating frequency and dietary patterns on metabolic outcomes, with the goal of informing practical strategies for obesity management and diabetes prevention.
I have a sustained record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations both at the national and international level. I am an active scientific community member at Emory University and serve on multiple roles with ASN including a leadership role as an At-Large Delegate for the ASN Obesity Research Interest Section (RIS), Abstract Reviewer for NUTRITION 2025–2026, Abstract Mentor for the NUTRITION 2026 Abstract Mentoring Week program, judging at multiple oral, poster, and theatre flash session at the NUTRITION 2025 and 2026.
