Arden McMath, PhD, RD, is a nutrition scientist and registered dietitian whose research spans maternal and infant nutrition, metabolic health, and the gut-microbiome-cognition axis. She is currently an ORISE Post-Doctoral Fellow at the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, studying iron homeostasis in pregnant women and infants and the effects of GLP-1 medications on nutrient status, and previously completed a T32-funded postdoctoral fellowship in Obesity and Endocrinology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She holds a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dr. McMath also brings a strong background in exercise science: she holds an MS in Exercise and Health Science and certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), which informs her interest in how diet and physical activity interact to support health and performance across the lifespan. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter on pediatric nutrition and the gut-brain axis, and is committed to translating nutrition and exercise science into products, services, and policies that help people achieve their healthiest selves.
