Md. Masum Ali is a PhD candidate in Nutrition and Health Sciences at Emory University. His research focuses on maternal and child nutrition, women's empowerment, environmental health, and the application of advanced epidemiologic and data science methods to improve health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. His current work investigates the relationships between women's empowerment, intimate partner violence, and maternal mental health, as well as the impact of household air pollution on human milk and infant metabolomic profiles and child growth. Prior to joining Emory, he worked as a Research Analyst at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and as a nutrition researcher at Helen Keller International (HKI) in Bangladesh, contributing to large-scale nutrition and public health research programs. His research has been presented at national and international scientific meetings, and he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in maternal and child nutrition, global health, and public health nutrition. His long-term goal is to generate evidence that informs policies and interventions to improve maternal and child health in resource-limited settings.
