Dr. Dongqing Wang is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Global and Community Health at George Mason University College of Public Health. He received his MBBS from Peking University Health Science Center, his M.P.H. and Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan, and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Wang’s research applies epidemiological methods, randomized controlled trials, prospective cohorts, and individual participant data meta-analyses to examine the nutritional determinants of maternal, child, and adolescent health and to optimize nutrition interventions across pregnancy, lactation, childhood, and adolescence. His research focuses on prenatal and postnatal nutritional supplementation, gestational weight gain, small vulnerable newborn phenotypes, human milk micronutrient composition, and school-based adolescent nutrition interventions in low- and middle-income countries. His representative work has been published in journals such as The Lancet Global Health, PLOS Medicine, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, International Journal of Epidemiology, BMJ Global Health, and Journal of Adolescent Health. Dr. Wang has served as PI, Co-PI, or Mason site PI on studies funded by the Thrasher Research Fund, the IZUMI Foundation, the World Health Organization, and the Gates Foundation. His honors include Emerging Leader in Nutrition Science from the American Society for Nutrition and the American Society for Nutrition Early Career Research Award.
