Graduate research assistant
Oklahoma State University
stillwater, Oklahoma, United States
I am a PhD candidate in Nutritional Sciences at Oklahoma State University with a background in biochemistry and a passion for understanding how nutrition can improve health across the lifespan. My research focuses on the interactions among diet, the gut microbiome, and host metabolism, with a particular emphasis on developing nutrition-based strategies to improve cardiometabolic and gut health during menopause. Using molecular biology, microbiome sequencing, RNA sequencing, metabolomics, and multi-omics approaches, I investigate how prebiotics such as resistant starch and pinto beans influence the gut–tissue axis and metabolic health. Throughout my career, I have authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, served as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals, and received the Outstanding Research by a Graduate Student Award at Oklahoma State University. Beyond research, I enjoy mentoring students, serving in graduate student leadership roles, and promoting scientific collaboration. My long-term goal is to establish an independent research program that translates nutritional discoveries into practical dietary interventions to improve health outcome.
