Olivia is a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she conducts research focused on nutrition, metabolism, obesity, and chronic disease. She earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Her current research investigates the performance of artificial intelligence–based dietary assessment tools for estimating energy and macronutrient intake from meal photographs, with the goal of improving the accuracy and accessibility of dietary assessment in both research and clinical settings. In addition to her work on digital nutrition technologies, she has contributed to clinical nutrition and metabolism research involving dietary interventions and metabolic health. Her research interests include obesity, diabetes, cardiometabolic disease, behavioral nutrition, and the application of emerging technologies to advance precision nutrition and improve patient care.
