Ravi Yadav, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Texas A&M AgriLife Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture, IHA, where he works with Teresa A. Davis, Ph.D., Director of IHA and Principal Investigator of the Precision Nutrition for Healthy Preterm Growth Laboratory. Under Davis’s mentorship, Yadav conducts research in pediatric and translational nutrition, focusing on how early-life nutrition regulates metabolic pathways that control growth, tissue development and long-term metabolic health.

Using translational laboratory models, Yadav investigates how nutrient availability and metabolic signaling pathways influence skeletal muscle growth, lean tissue accretion and organ metabolism during this early life. His work integrates physiological, molecular and metabolomic approaches to identify nutritional strategies that can improve growth and metabolic outcomes in preterm infants, a population at increased risk for impaired lean tissue development and metabolic disorders later in life.

Prior to joining Davis’s Lab at the IHA, Yadav earned his Ph.D. from the School of Animal Sciences at Virginia Tech, where he studied the molecular mechanisms through which dietary nutrients regulate liver metabolism and contribute to the development of fatty liver disease in pediatric populations.

Yadav’s expertise includes translational models, metabolic physiology and stable isotope tracer methodologies to study macronutrient metabolism and metabolic flux, supported by analytical approaches such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, GC-MS.
