I am a registered dietitian and a post-doctoral fellow in the Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Ohio State University Medical Center. My research focuses on the molecular metabolic changes within the mammary gland during and after abrupt involution (not breastfeeding after full term pregnancy) and the link to breast cancer. Currently, I am evaluating the molecular mechanism of precancerous metabolic changes and the potential use of omega-3 fatty acids as a dietary intervention. My goal is to develop an intervention for women who cannot or choose not to breastfeed to reduce risk of breast cancer.
