Dr. Andrea Lobene is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health, Nutrition, & Food Sciences at Florida State University, where her research broadly centers on the role of nutrition, especially sodium and potassium intake, for improving cardiovascular health. She earned her PhD in Nutrition Science from Purdue University and completed her postdoctoral training in applied cardiovascular physiology at the University of Delaware. Throughout her career, Dr. Lobene has secured research funding from agencies such as the USDA NIFA AFRI, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the American Heart Association. A registered and licensed dietitian, she is also heavily engaged in professional service, currently serving as President-elect of the American Society for Nutrition's Nutrition Translation Group Engaging Members and as a member of the Lifestyle Membership Committee for the Council on Lifestyle and Cardiometabolic Health of the American Heart Association.
