Dr. Marissa Shams-White is a Senior Principal Scientist in the Department of Population Science at the American Cancer Society (ACS). Her primary research interests focus on the assessment of diet quality, dietary patterns, and modifiable lifestyle factors and how they individually and jointly may impact risk obesity, cancer, and mortality risk. Prior to joining ACS, she was a Cancer Prevention Fellow and Program Director in the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program at the National Cancer Institute at the NIH. Dr. Shams-White received her PhD and MS in Nutritional Epidemiology from the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, her MPH from the Tufts University School of Medicine, and her MS in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
