Megan P. Mueller, PhD, MPH is an Associate Professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Colorado State University. Her research focuses on how food systems, nutrition policy, and commercial food environments shape dietary behaviors, nutrition quality, and chronic disease risk. A major component of her work examines corporate social responsibility commitments in the restaurant industry using large-scale menu, nutrient, and web-scraped text data, paired with consumer-level studies to understand how corporate practices translate into real-world food environments and behaviors. Dr. Mueller’s research integrates big data analytics, systems thinking, and policy-relevant approaches, with additional work focused on food insecurity and nutrition security in high cost-of-living regions through community-engaged partnerships. Her work has been supported by the American Heart Association, US Department of Agriculture, Health Services Research Administration Maternal Child Health Bureau, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
