Katie Brown, EdD, RDN, CPT, FASN, FAND, is President of the National Dairy Council (NDC), the nonprofit nutrition research and education organization founded by U.S. dairy farmers. She leads the organization’s Scientific, Regulatory, Nutrition and Sustainability Affairs, and serves as a nationally recognized expert and spokesperson on dairy’s role in health, wellness, and sustainable food systems.

Dr. Brown also serves as Executive Vice President of Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), where she is a member of the CEO’s executive leadership team and contributes to industry-wide initiatives through leadership roles with the International Dairy Federation U.S. and the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy.

A registered dietitian, academic, entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, and fitness trainer, Dr. Brown is known for advancing evidence-based strategies that improve health outcomes and reduce diet-related diseases. She has delivered more than 150 presentations globally, has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and frequently contributes to popular and trade media.

Dr. Brown holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutrition and a doctorate degree in education. She’s a member of the National Academies of Sciences’ Food Forum and Roundtable on Obesity Solutions. Her honors include the University of Kansas Distinguished Health Professions Alumna Award (2024) and Fellow designations from both the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the American Society for Nutrition.
