Dr. Xiaowen Wang is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a member of the Harvard Nutritional Biomarker Laboratory. Her research focuses on nutritional epidemiology, metabolomics, the gut microbiome, and cardiometabolic disease prevention, with an emphasis on understanding how dietary factors influence human health through interactions with genetics, metabolism, and the gut microbiome. She earned dual doctoral degrees from Peking University and Osaka University through the Ministry of Education’s Asian Campus Program for Public Health Leadership and has conducted research using major cohort studies in China, Japan, and the United States. Dr. Wang has published approximately 60 peer-reviewed papers, including 26 first-author articles in journals such as Nature Health, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, npj Science of Food, BMC Medicine, European Journal of Epidemiology, and Heart, among others. Her work has received more than 2,200 citations and has an H-index of 23. She was selected to the Stanford/Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists list and was recognized as a finalist for the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) Nutrition Translation Award.
