Sharmin Sultana has 16+ years of experience in the international development sector supporting food security and nutrition projects. She obtained an MPH from the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and has spent most of her career in Bangladesh. Recently, she led the Communications, Knowledge Management, and Community of Practice efforts for the Gates Foundation-funded Data for Decisions in Nutrition (DataDENT) project at the Center for Human Nutrition, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Currently, she is involved in freelance communications assignments.
Sharmin has undertaken a considerable amount of professional service. She is a member of ASN, a Communications Officer for the Climate/Environment, Health, Agriculture, and Improved Nutrition (CHAIN), and an at-large delegate for ASN's Global Nutrition Council (GNC) leadership teams.
Throughout her career Sharmin has contributed as a freelance health and nutrition writer, publishing in different newspapers and journals in USA and Bangladesh. She has also completed a certificate program at the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University.
